As a boy, Neil visited an air show with his father and was captivated by the planes he saw there. This sparked his lifelong love for flying. He learned how to be a pilot before he could even drive! After a stint flying planes in the US navy, Neil joined NASA and was soon offered the chance to lead the very first exploration of the moon. In 1969, he made history by being the first person on its surface.
